Irish Landscape Drawings

Is less more? In recent months I’ve moved away from art inspired by impressionism to minimalist art.

All of the drawings in this post were created with Derwent XL Charcoal, and Graphite blocks on tan-toned drawing paper. In all cases, I wanted the drawings to meet the following criteria:

These drawings rely heavily on intuition in the sense that I don’t overthink things. I just draw and let the process happen. I think emotion and intuition are the main components in successful art. The technical stuff matters but not as much as emotion. Besides thinking is not something I’m good at.
